March 30, 2018: As we shared the festive spirit of Nowruz and welcomed the spring, Amnesty and guests also remembered and took action on the grave human rights abuses going on in Iran. A delightful evening of awareness raising and presentations featuring cases of people in Iran who are in prison for their beliefs. Like our past well-received events our guests were treated to delicious Iranian food, refreshments, and live music.

With a feminist agenda, my creative works captured the imaginations of readers and viewers as I travelled pursuing an artistic career promoting body positivity, natural beauty and the sovereignty of women's bodies through art and photography. I am no longer employed in those fields of work. Having spent almost a decade building my profile in the cultural sector as a public figure, I took some personal time off while handling family obligations. Using the sum of my experience I am now devoted full-time to my writings, social activism, and politics building upon a new definition of 'modern humanism' as seen through the lens of feminism.
